Well, IGN posted a list of all the Xbox games that are compatible with Xbox 360 and, surpirse, the games I own or want to own in the next few months are not compatible with the new machine. DDR Ultramix 1, 2 and 3 I can understand not being compatible, as there would be no way to plug in the dance pad into the machine, but no Street Fighter 3 or King of Fighter love too? Oh well. Maybe they'll get around to it in the future, but I'm in no major rush. At this point there are only two games that have caught my attention as being purchase worthy on 360 - Kameo and Ridge Racer 6; And I'm pretty sure that I'd rather not spend over $400 to play either one yet.
I'm sure that the system is going to be around for a while. When I start seeing more games that make me go, "Wow!" and maybe when the price drops a little and we see some Plantiumn Hits or two free games come with the machine or something, maybe I'll take the plunge then.
To be honest though, this year the DS has a ton of fantastic games striking that look incredible (Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Sonic Rush, Mario & Luigi 2) and PS2 has games that have either been out for a while or are about to come out that look incredible (God of War, Dragon Quest 8, plus a ton of really attractive games coming next year for it) that it's not like there is a drought of good games coming out for systems that I already own like when, say, the Dreamcast came out.
Besides, there are more important things to save up for than a new gaming machine with a high price tag. Next year Olga and myself have our wedding and Honeymoon to plan for and a very possible move to consider. These things are of higher priority than a shiny new game machine, especially one that won't get the kind of usuage I would like it to have intill next year sometime anyway.
